Read the score. Hear it. Rewrite it.

One score for the whole band

Open MuseScore, MusicXML, MIDI, or PDF scores and set the volume of each part as you listen. Marks and edits reach every member's score right away.

For iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android. Reading, playback, annotation, and editing are free.

Part practice

Play only the parts you want to hear

Change the volume of each part, mute it or solo it, or give it another instrument. No more exporting a separate rehearsal track for every part.

  • A-B repeat for the phrases that need it
  • Metronome, count-in, tempo, and transposition
  • Hide the parts you don't need and focus on yours
  • Background playback and Picture in Picture

Annotation

Write your notes on the score

Write fingerings and rehearsal notes straight onto the score with Apple Pencil or your finger. Change the zoom, or switch between vertical scrolling and pages, and the music reflows; your marks stay with the notes they belong to.

  • Marks save with the score automatically
  • Share the score as a PDF with your marks on it
  • On a Mac, mark up with a mouse or trackpad

Editing and creating

Fix a note on the spot

When an imported score has a mistake, fix it without going back to another app. Enter and delete notes, change pitches, and write chords, ties, tuplets, and rehearsal marks, drum notation included. You can also start a new score from scratch.

On a Mac, enter notes from the keyboard

Type a letter for the pitch and a number for the duration. Every editing command can take a keyboard shortcut, and Settings > Shortcuts lists them all, ready to search and change.

Sync and shared groups

Every mark and fix on every member's score

Sign in, and your scores sync across your devices, annotations and edits included. Create a shared group, and your choir or band works from the same scores, with every mark and note fix showing up on everyone's copy right away.

  • Fix a score on your Mac, then mark it up on your iPad
  • Write a rehearsal note once, for every member
  • Keep private notes that only you can see

Everything except sync and shared groups works without signing in.

Import and export

Open the scores you already have

Import

  • MuseScore (.mscz)
  • MusicXML (.musicxml, .mxl)
  • MIDI
  • PDF

Export

  • MuseScore
  • PDF
  • MIDI
  • Audio (.m4a)
  • .folino

On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, even a scanned PDF is read into real notation when you import it, so playback, transposition, and showing or hiding parts all work as they do with any other format. You can still switch back to the original PDF.

A .folino file carries the score together with its marks and settings, ready to edit on another device.
